What’s coming after Balanced Humanity is Decentralized Humanity. The concept is still in development by me and others whose voices and opinions I respect. As mentioned in my previous article, decentralized humanity is achieved when humanity’s shared unconditional love is here and embodied, and when our collective attention is not solely directed at our increasingly digitally-dependent lives, but our presence is focused towards a more natural, authentic and pure direction. In this article, I am going to share with you some notes on what I believe Decentralized Humanity is going to look and feel like. Thanks for hopping on this journey with me!
Here are my own definitions:
Balance = dynamic presence. When we live in the moment, develop deeper presence in the now and adapt to internal and external shifts.
Decentralization = self-sovereignty. Taking control over our own life, as opposed to giving out control to an external authority. Becoming our own authority. Making decisions for ourselves, as opposed to letting others to make decisions for us.
As my personal journey for the past 5+ years has been focused on finding balance in love, self-love, love towards my partners and love towards humanity — I believe I have found it. I found profound presence in this search for love. And when I let go of individuals and particular images of what Balanced Humanity should look like — I found it. Love. Unconditional love. In all its forms. With that milestone achieved around last quarter of 2024, I continued towards the next step of my journey: finding a way to develop self-authority and reach self-sovereignty, which to me, means decentralization.
Now I am dreaming about decentralization from the digital cage I found myself in, decentralization from the global governments’ control, decentralization from borders and nation states, decentralization from one vision for the future of humanity. I am not aiming for peace on earth yet. I am aiming for creating the alternatives to the current structures we found ourselves stuck in. I am voting for freedom.
I am not claiming to hold all the answers about what is to come in the future. Yet I feel that we are at a crucial point in our Humanity’s development where we’ve got to find a way to take deeper control over our lives by creating parallel, sovereign ecosystems to support our livelihood and longevity and to become more independent and free. To decentralize the influence and the control that is placed upon us. To create a life apart from the authoritarian regimes coming from the modern governments and organizations that we do not respect or support. To reach self-sovereignty in our personal health care by educating ourselves on health practices and preventive medicine, instead of blindly trusting governments’ decisions on how to handle our own health states. Surely, there is way more about these ideas to be shared offline as this is not a safe space for me to transparently share my true opinions. I am not trying to remove governments, or compete with them — I am aiming to discover or develop a new, parallel system that would work for me and my family, as the current state of affairs deeply dissatisfies me and I do not feel comfortable birthing a new life in this reality until I find a way to for us to be more self-sovereign.
I recognize that governments and organizations that collaborate with power structures are closely observing, tracking and analyzing our communications online and I do not want to pretend to comply and agree with what’s happening. Yet, instead of playing by the rules and loosing my sovereignty or breaking the rules and being punished for that, I choose to create my own rules. And there are many of us, in a decentralized world.
Before, I thought that spiritual development and living in intentional community is the answer and a path towards rebalancing of our humanity. I was wrong. In that scene, I found a lot of impostering, unprocessed darkness that is covered by fake light and love washing and absolute lack of thoughtful, strategic action. In spiritual circles, most people are still on Meta, giving their data away to huge corporation that is collaborating with the government, while pretending to build a better, more peaceful world. Living through a cruel global pandemic restrictions that has caused unimaginable consequences and still living through the military action in my country and the country of my closest people, I found out that light and love does not do any justice at all. Researching alternative financial systems development and technological sovereignty via decentralized technologies became my escape path from the world of fake spirituality and living in illusion. Reality hit me and my loved ones way too harshly and I realized that regardless of how heart-centered and spiritually advanced I am, I do not have the power to avoid or wash away the deep darkness that is upon us.
For Decentralized Humanity, my plan is to go dark, darker than darkest. My plan is to disappear from the current systems. My plan is to become fully untraceable and untouchable and create systems that work for me and my tribe. I am not saying that crypto is the answer, but to me, privacy-focused decentralized technologies and self-sovereign identity are way more useful developments than ai and digital automation. I am not here to fight and I am not here to avoid darkness. I am here to decentralize out of the control that is increasingly imposed on me and find a way out towards a new civilization.
Friends are not friends anymore. I do not have friends, I have a network. We are collaborators, not comrades. Trustless ecosystem is the way forward. I do not need to know who you are to co-create with you. I will need to know about your tech stack though to see where you stand at. Tech is becoming more and more political. Decentralized Humanity will not be technology-less. It will be more advanced than any technology we are currently aware of and only those who understand and engage in it fully will be part of it. Advanced, humane tech. Not caged by biased and controlled ai algorithms that collect your data to potentially turn it against you if you are found inconvenient for a governing structure.
Over-focusing on tech is not my goal, yet I recognize that those who hold keys to technologies are in power. Ignoring technological evolution is foolish, yet I want us to take a look beyond the power that digital technologies hold and explore more natural ecosystems, develop new infrastructures for our collaborative affects and engage in regenerative practices, instead of extracting ones.
Awareness of where we are at is crucial. Acknowledging that we let ourselves to be fooled and distracted by technologies we are using daily. Understanding that there will be no next Apple, Meta or Alphabet — we do not need that. The future of organizations is decentralized groups of people developing technologies that work for their goals and building an interoperability layer to unite aligned products and solutions. We are setting up decentralized teams, not one big corporation-like structure. Ecosystems approach is proven to work well in the decentralized tech world and we are still only at the beginning of this trend. Yet, as I have noticed in my ecosystems research work, we are still making the same mistakes while building new tech and face the same problems in governance/management, fundraising, funds distribution and talent placement. Many people in our field have great ideas that are similar to one another, yet many of us do not want to work for one another’s ideas. Here comes the idea of coordination based on a clear shared new ideology. A DAO only works when every DAO member fully understands, agrees and aligns to the DAO’s goals. And today, I am noticing, people really enjoy to disagree with each other, perhaps, only for the sake of proving one’s not so unique point that may sound different but it is not. With that, collaboration between DAOs became very difficult as we are observing here the interplay of egos of the most ambitious minds. I guess here we’ve got to remember that organizations do not need to be autonomous to be decentralized. Maybe here we can step out of the technology chase and find peace in the present moment, which would allow us to see what really matters and how to agree and achieve our shared goals, not by building new tech, but by curating existing tech and placing it on alternative, safer and more privacy-focused infrastructures.
Develop an MVP of Decentralized Humanity that is super small scale. 144 of us is more than enough. Not chasing financial gains, choosing quality, sovereignty, security and privacy. Agreeing on the foundational values. Not needing to fight for your role within an organization, choosing your set of roles and responsibilities and sticking to them in a long run. Some of us are builders and some of us are reporters, narrators, messengers. All of us are creators. We are united by the feelings and emotions we access from the most optimal future. Coordinating synchronistically, not forced. Transparently sharing any issues and roadblocks, asking for help and receiving it. Not overdoing it. Trusting in our shared decentralized future.
The timeline I am looking at right now is this: by 2028 we’ve set the levels of privacy and security needed to create strong and well-coordinated working groups, developed and launched our operational tech stack and left the traditional internet and digital technologies behind. By 2030 we have built a working parallel governance system with our sovereign economical layer, and a substantial decentralized network of physical locations that operate seamlessly with one another.
Difficult to put a name to this, maybe we should not for now. Decentralized Humanity is only a concept, a dream, an idea. This dream will be edited, improved and developed as the time goes by and more visions, knowledge, skill sets and networks are interwoven.
